Kayla Coleman, on animal testing.
There are products on the market (medicine, and some will tell you cosmetics) that require animal testing by the government before approval for sale.
As Ms. Coleman points out, there are enough differences between humans and other animals – even chimps (our closest relatives) that squelch any justification of animal testing for medical purposes.
In fact, I would take it a step further. Misinformation will set things back. If medication or treatment is developed out of faulty data, then it will never meet the needs of those humans suffering from diseases such as HIV/AIDS, cancers, MS, MD, etc. Indeed it will only add to the overall suffering in the name of that disease.
